Quilts, quilts and more quilts

I haven't really been in a papercrafting mood frame of mind recently- a few cards from some kits and a gift for a friend, but that's about it.  I've been meeting my goal for OWH each month, but obviously not my goal to post a project once a week.  :S 

I have, however, been in a quilting frame of mind and have created 4 quilt tops in the last few weeks that are ready for quilting.  To date, I've only done in the ditch quilting, but I think I'm going to branch out and do some decorative quilting on these.  I just need to boost my confidence a little and then I'm on my way.  Here are the quilts- the pictures aren't great and I didn't take time to smooth the quilts out.  I fell in love with the fabrics when I was shopping and bought them with nothing really in mind.  I'm happy with the outcomes so far.  :)

New crafting area layout, receiving blankets and cards

I got a new desk for my sewing machine and added some much needed storage space.  I am so happy with my new layout!  There is less wasted space and much more room for all my stuff!

 The shelf between my sewing desk and crafting table is the same shelf that my Cricuts and card making supplies are on, just turned up on it's end.

I made the following cards for a baby shower I attended today and for my niece's 6th birthday.

And last, I made 2 receiving blankets and 2 burp rags as a shower gift.  I am also making her a quilt for the baby, but haven't started on that yet.  Baby is due the end of February, so I'll have it done by then.  I love these receiving blankets and wish I'd had some when my kids were babies- they are so big, much better for swaddling

Christmas gifts for teachers

A friend made one of these for me at Halloween and I thought it was so clever- then I found the tutorial here: http://scrapadoodledee.blogspot.com/2010/11/fabulous-friday-and-tutorial.html- and knew I had to do them for my kids' teachers for Christmas.  I modified my pattern a little, but same results...  I used Bazzill Basics cardstock that had a bit of a shine for the poinsettia (cut from the Winter Wonderland cartridge) and for the holder, then I used removable Glue Dots to hold the hand sanitizer and gift card in.  The pictures aren't great- the shine on the paper made it a little difficult- but I think they turned out cute.  I hope the teachers love them!

A card; 2 bags; an index card, um, thing; some inspiration; and an idea

I made the follow card and bag for a friend from work.  She has been my mentor since April of last year.  I recently accepted a new position, so this is just a little thank for you all that she has done....

This bag is for me, I think.... It's the same pattern as the one above.  I got this in a kit at a quilt shop in Cannon Beach, Or.  It's the Amy Butler drawstring bag.

I made this for my "secret" pal at bible study- Jill again this week.  :)  There is a brad in the corner to hold index cards for bible verses and other inspiration.

I found these paper clips at Michael's this weekend and fell in love...  I have some images of what I would like to do with them, but we'll see how they actually turn out.

If you make cards, will you consider sending some for this great cause?  I don't know about you, but I feel pretty good when I get a handmade card from someone...  Wouldn't it be great if the loved ones of the brave men and women serving our country could feel that too?

A sewing project,some fabric, and a couple of cards...

So, I finished my mom's bag and am pretty pleased with how it turned out.  The pattern was kind of strange and I think I would do some things differently if I make this bag again...

I got this fabric today for a quilt- I love the colors!

I also got this fabric and thought I would make my daughter a bag.  She has actually requested a skirt, so I will do that instead.  I will post pictures of the quilt and the skirt when they are done.

I almost forgot to make cards for my son for his birthday- so I did those really quick yesterday before I worked on my mom's bag.  I think they turned out great.  I used DCWV paper for the background on this one, with silver star stickers and the Jubilee cartridge for this one from his sisters.

This one is from us- I used the Wild Card Cartridge for this one.  I picked this design because he is our little monster.  I can't believe he is going to be 9 this week.  Where has time gone?

I'm thinking that I will go back and find some of my old sewing projects and post those soon.  That is where my love for creating started (and the name of my Etsy store and this blog)....  Watch for those soon.  :)

Hello!

Just a few pictures today...  I went to Vegas for the weekend to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday, so haven't had much time to create.  :)  We had a blast in Vegas but it was nice to get home.

I found a cool and inexpensive way to create a light box for taking photos of my cards.  I'd been looking for awhile and found this today...  http://debscreativeheart.blogspot.com/2010/03/how-i-photograph-my-cards.html  I am really happy with how it turned out and love that it doesn't take up any room to store!

Anyway, here are my few cards for today.  Hope you like  :)

I'm not thrilled with the wording on this- should be darker I think.  I used my Wild Card Cricut cartridge for this one and added the flower sticker.
